Day Care

Because everyone will be busy tomorrow and no one can stay home with Gigi, and she's not ready to be home alone by herself all day yet, she will be going to doggie day care for the first time!

Let's hope she will have fun with other doggies and won't miss us too much :-\

BTW, I bought those laser beam pet toy and played it on Gigi. She tried to chase or catch that red beam. So cute XD, but we felt a little guilty playing her like that, hehe, just a little. It was so amusing to see her chasing the red beam!

CW Bay Area Top Pet result

Alas, Gigi didn't win, but she's still our top pet! That's all that matters :) Once again, thank you everyone who has supported Gigi!

Congratulations to Abby, the golden retriever!

Last week Dog park & puppy class report

A little belated post on last week Wednesday (1st puppy class), Thursday (2nd time to dog park), and just the past Sunday.

1st puppy class: Gigi was extremely friendly to the people, but as it was the day right after her little incident (see previous post), she didn't warm up to the other three puppies quickly. The training started off with basic skills such as listening to commands like Sit and Down, using treats as incentive/reward. The trainer also talked about biting inhibition, and since Gigi is older than the other puppies who are 10-13 weeks old, the trainer told us we'll need to be more aggressive with Gigi on the discipline. Overall, she behaved well!

She looks so chubby, cuddly, and happy 8D

Close-up.

She loved the treats others gave her!

Dog park 8/13: This time, we didn't just throw her out there like throwing a kid into a football field. Gigi was leashed for a short period and we allowed her to stay on the side. If dogs came to sniff her and she tried to run, we held onto her collar to show that the dogs aren't there to harm her. Eventually Gigi started to warm up and did little steps such as walking on her own and not run away from other dogs. Later in the evening, another corgi named Diego entered the park! Now he was a hyper little thing, playing with all the big dogs! When it was around 8PM and the other dogs were going home, Gigi started to play with Diego! Dunno if it's because he was another corgi or because there were less dogs or what not, but that was a huge leap for her! Here is a video from my phone:

The one running in circles is Gigi :P

This video is from Sunday at the dog park again, and this time she actually played and wrestled with another puppy named Reina! Sorry for the quality, as it's also from the phone.

Gigi won :D

Dog Park Visit, Walking

(These pictures are from 8/11 Tuesday.)
Gigi is taking walks in the evenings now! I try to walk her in the mornings but I tend to oversleep a lot. :(

Also, Gigi is going to dog parks!! This post will mainly be about her visit on Tuesday. (But rest assured, she did 100% better on her next visit on Thursday 8/13! =)) Gigi was quite overwhelmed by the number of dogs at the dog park. Right when she got in the gates, many dogs came over to greet the newcomer. Every time a dog tried to greet her, Gigi would either run away or seek protection/comfort from my sister or me between our legs. She followed us closely the entire time. Unfortunately, one time, a Husky started chasing her (not aggressively) and Gigi yelped when the Husky sniffed her. Many dogs heard this, and about 10 dogs came all at once to see what was going on. Gigi was completely overwhelmed by how many big dogs came to check her out. The other owners at the park were very nice, helping us clear up the dogs and save our baby from too much craziness. :)

Wasn't a great start. But stay tuned for our post on her first puppy training class on Wednesday 8/12 and her next visit to the dog park on Thursday 8/13. ;)

Bumped into Jake on a walk. Jake's such a wonderful big brother. :)

On her walk. Look at her tongue flopping out~!

Two shadows are me and my sister. Gigi looks over to the crowd. Wants to greet the people but too many dogs. She's so tiny!

A German Shepherd came to say hello. Gigi not too excited. xP

After her little incident, she did this when another dog came by to say hello. Poor baby. =( Just like a child.

CW Bay Area's Top Pet Contest

The anticipation of the results is agonizing. :( Yesterday, my mom and I dreamed several dreams of different results of the contest. But the results weren't even announced yesterday.

We're hoping today. But AH! The suspense is killing me! I want to know!
And I want the good news!! :/

Dog park debut

Our little baby just got her license on Saturday, so today (Sunday) we took her to a local dog park to play at. Gigi looked like she enjoyed so much that I easily snapped around 60 photos of her, especially since she's so photogenic. XD Here are few of them.

She was smiling the whole way~

Gigi greeting another dog.
The owner said that her dog has corgi breed in her!

'twas as if she's herding us, always walking on our side and making sure we're together. X3

So much space to run in! (off-leashed!)

DAWwwwwwwwwwwwwwww ♥

Also, this weekend we discovered that she's starting to lose her baby teeth! Yup, milestone for 4 month olds :) Starting with the first two fronts on top and two fronts on bottom.

We are crossing our fingers for the big announcement tomorrow!!

Competition ended!

The competition has officially ended today at noon.

The whole time my family and I were holding our breathes as the percentages kept chasing each other. Eventually, I think the percentages ended with a tie. We now put all our faith in the judges to see the wonderful, smart, cute puppy we all see and give her full points!

Let's hope Gigi wins! ^^

Gigi being cute and comfy at home

We're almost there!!

Remember to Vote for Gigi!
Officially 1 day left! It's been a LONG 2 weeks but it's finally nearing to the end. We can do it! And even if we don't win, Gigi will always remain top dog in our family. :) No doubt.

Here's some eye candy from the past few days!

Gigi wants us to go outside and play with her. <3

Getting cozy on our Doraemon pillow.

Keeping an eye out for her family even when relaxing on our Sailor Moon blanket. (We still have a lot of our childhood things ;D)

Another funny story yesterday with Gigi. Tiff was talking on the phone outside on the staircase. Gigi could hear her from the other side of the door. She started pawing at the door and jumping on the gate on the other end of the hall, whining. My guess is she wanted to make sure she could see everyone. Eventually, she rammed down the baby gate and went to go see Tiff. :] Such a cutie.

And of course, it's become a daily routine for her now to beg daddy with sparkly eyes and little barks for her share of fruit for the day at night. It's so cute. Daddy and Tiff can't resist her "puppy eyes". :)

Gigi's a vampire...?

Just minutes ago, she was looking around the kitchen area and came across our bag of ginger roots and garlic. She sniffed and sniffed and then scooted back in reflex, as if she had just touched a hot pot, and then started growling and barking at the bag! LOL She sniffed it again and did the same thing. Apparently she doesn't like the smell of ginger and/or garlic! So silly XP; But hey, dogs do have a more sensitive nose.

Remember to Vote for Gigi!

Just 3 more days!

Puppy Training classes moved

:( Unfortunately, Gigi's puppy training classes was canceled due to low enrollment. She needs to take them at another location now.

So sad. Was looking forward to her taking classes! Oh well, another week then!

CW Bay Area's Top Pet Contest

Countdown 5 Days to the end of the competition.

Through the support of all our friends and family, we've been able to maintain a solid percentage for the past week. ( A BIG THANK YOU ! Sorry for the mass email and facebook spamming! :))

It's become a routine for me to check the percentages every few hours now (don't know about my family members).

My family and I didn't think we would get to this point. But since we have, we're planning on putting our all and going as far as we can go! Let's hope Gigi's "Corgi smile" will win her way to the judges' heart! :D

Play ball, my friends visit

This morning, I took some pictures of Gigi playing ball in the backyard.

Her expression as she stares at the ball. SO ADORABLE.

Returning the ball! Go Gigi!

Accomplished! Got the ball!

Sweet Corgi smile. :)

My friends Emily, Victoria, Jenny, and Anna came over to see Gigi after we went to the beach. Gigi performed all her tricks for them, and they were so impressed!
So far she knows: Sit, Down, Rollover, Leave it, Jump, Through (my legs), Paw, Shake, Dance.
Very smart puppy!

New Trick

Hehe, I taught Gigi a new trick a couple of days ago....JUMP
I jumped myself and she followed me. After a few tries she gets the trick without me jumping.

She is one smart puppy, and because of her love of FOOD :PPP

Oh, she's starting puppy training class next week. I'm sure she will be a fast learner in tricks. Hopefully she'll be a fast learner in discipline too :XD
