Gigi's first Christmas occured in a black out. Memorable but not particularly exciting for her unfortunately. Either way, Gigi went through her first christmas!!

Favourite game

So Gigi has been staying with us since the weekend before Thanksgiving so her mommy can study for finals. It's both fun and trouble to have her around XD. She loves attention, just like a little kid, wants us to play with her all the time, and yet steals our slippers in a split second when we'll not paying attention!

Her favourite game is playing her green rubber ball. We threw it and she would go fetch it and bring it back to us. She also learned a new game....catch. When she's tired of running around fetching the ball, she will jump up the sofa and sits there, then we throw the ball to her and she will just catch the ball in the air. She's actually pretty good in catching the ball now, no matter in what directions we throw the ball too. She's no doubt a smart puppy, smart enough to learn tricks that drive us crazy too!

Tac's cousin Wesley was chasing after Gigi during our Thanksgiving dinner. Poor Gigi had to hide under the chair to avoid him, and we thought Gigi would be the bully one....

Update~

Okay so someone beat me to the santa pictures. :P So here's a random update with Gigi photos!

But first! Last week Gigi was having diarrhea and loss of appetite (?!) problems. She wasn't lethargic or anything, she was just having trouble pooping. It seemed to get better. But on Saturday morning, her stool was mucous-y and had a little blood inside. So after getting a fecal done, I found out she had 2 parasites. :( But she's taking medication now, so she's getting better and will be fine! She probably got if from the dog park or something like that. But, by the vet's recommendations, I put Gigi on a "bland" diet of white, steamed rice with chicken over the weekend. Gigi had NO problems eating that. :)

Now, onwards to the random pictures! As you can tell, Gigi really likes to spend time on the bed now. Her mommy spoils her because in the mornings, I'm too sleepy to notice her pounce on the bed to join me. :X Plus, she's loves to cuddle in this weather....

Gigi and Cooper

The first time Gigi went to the dog park at Davis, the first friend she made there was Cooper, a bigger dog that's about the same age as her. Now, EVERY single time they meet at the dog park, they play together, without fail. They totally recognize each other, always running to each other really happily and excited.

Here's a video I had recorded WAY back, the first time they played. Cooper is a lot bigger now but still incredibly gentle to her, always laying down to let her bite his ears. :)

New Siblings

Just learn from Kim's (Gigi's breeder) website that Gigi's parents, Winston and Dayzee, will be having a new litter in November. Gigi will have many new siblings! But I doubt any of them will be as cute and silly as our beloved GG-Bear, hehehe....

BTW, last weekend Gigi came back home. In the mornings she went in front of Tiff's room and whined. She probably likes to wake Tiff up very much :PP

Looking for grandpa in the morning

On Monday after Gigi went outside to potty in the morning, she heard noises from upstairs, so she went upstairs and found grandpa in our room (apparently the door of the room was left opened XD ). Yesterday morning she went upstairs right away after going potty. The door was left opened again and she found and greet grandpa again :)

This morning when I came down to let her out, I closed our bedroom door. After she went potty, she ran upstairs again but...couldn't get into our room XD Then she start barking and whining in the upstairs hallway until I went up and opened the door to let her in. She wouldn't come downstairs with me either. She waited to come down with grandpa because grandpa gives her the most goodies :D

And probably the most eventful time for Gigi is visiting Jake, our neighbor corgi, now having her adult teeth and being much bigger! Eventually Jake also wanted to play with her, so we let them out in the backyard. They were having so much fun corgi sparring!


Again she was so eager to play with Jake that we had to restrain her when she's being too jumpy. And you bet she was pouting and whining. :P

Slippers fun

So we are babysitting Gigi for the week so her "mom" can study for midterms. I was asked to update the blog with any funny or cute things about her :)

Well, today GG-bear attacked both of my slippers. She took one, then came back for the second. Later I found one by the front door and the other in the downstairs bathroom. Look how naughty she was when playing with my slippers :PP

(Our) Comfy bed Part II

Maybe because Gigi slept at around 10:30pm ish, but Gigi decided to wake up early 6:00am today. I heard her whining, so I let her out to pee/poo. Afterwards, I put her back in her crate. BUT, she still continued to whine. So, since I didn't want her to wake up my housemates and I was sleepy, I just let her go into my room.

I crawled right back into bed. But maybe it was too dark for Gigi to see, she sat down at the foot of my bed and started whining again. So, since I wanted to sleep, I just picked her up, put her on the bed, and went back under the covers. THEN, Gigi stayed quiet. She just laid down at the end of the bed and slept the next 2 hours until it was time for us to wake up for the dog park.

Tonight, after swapping a fly and scaring Gigi, Krysten, Catherine, and I quickly started playing with Gigi to not give her enough time to be frightened. We got her hyper and here's a little video of her silliness. :)

The past weekend, I got to go visit Gigi-bear!

...And I miss her already. Again. Hehe. Did I mention Sunday morning she was so excited to go to the dog park, she came up when I was still asleep and walked all over my face? 8D



At the dog park sparring with another fellow corgi named Buddy. ♥ I love how they tumble and roll so swiftly for recovery XD This is the first I've seen of Gigi being this confident in the dog park. I was so amazed how she matured from the timid puppy to this bouncy girl. She's also much more excited to play with dogs now than go greet random people, as if she now recognizes who are her "family" people and who are strangers.

Bath, fur

This morning, Gigi ran into a puddle of mud and got herself all dirty. :( She looked so silly, running in the mud all happy-go-lucky. So, I decided today will be major clean up day. Me and Catherine mopped the house and gave Gigi a bath! She's all clean now!

A lot of flies got into the house today, so I was constantly smacking something with a book. But apparently, Gigi doesn't like that sound. At all. She acts like we hit her or she did something wrong or something. She ran to the bathroom and hid behind the toilet. She looked so scared and sad. I had to coax her with food and give her a lot of praise to get her to feel better. =( Poor baby.

But on the funny side, today the repairman, Brandon, was helping us fix the sink. Suddenly, he said, "Hey! Did you just lick my back you silly dog?" Gigi stares back. He then pets her head. :)

After she dried up a good amount, I brushed Gigi. A BIG BIG BIG glob of fur resulted. She has an endless amount of fur, I swear. I brushed her for a good hour and I bet I still can get more fur out.

Gigi did this on her own. She was sleepy.

Gigi and I went to go visit my friend's fluffy 11 week old corgi, Daphne. Gigi loved playing with the baby! I just had to make sure she played gently. Otherwise, Gigi and Daphne loved each other! I forget that Gigi was once that small :)

Moved in

Well, this is officially the second day I have moved into the Davis house for the start of the school year. From what I've heard from mommy and daddy, the house has become a whole lot more quiet without Gigi and us, kids. I'm sure everyone is missing the Gigi-bear a lot! Her corgi smiles, funny noises, and goofiness. So, I will try to update more with some pictures and videos!

This morning I took Gigi to the dog park, in hopes that she'll play so hard that she'll be tired for the rest of the day. Well, she did. I was worried a good part of the day, because Gigi kept going back into her crate to sleep. Thank goodness, she bounced back during the late afternoon. Then she was back to her usual self. I then walked her down our usual path at night. I think that's a good amount of exercise for her.

Kong challenge

Tonight at dinner time, (Gigi's) grandpa put some chicken meat into Gigi's kong and gave it to her. She worked on it the whole dinner, I'd say at least 20 minutes XD. Gigi worked very hard in getting the yummy chicken out, but the chicken meat was stuffed too inside, she couldn't get much of them out :( So grandpa went to help her.

When grandpa took the kong away from her, she didn't try to run away with the kong (like when we tried to get her other treasure away from her). She seemed to know that grandpa is helping her :P At last with some help, she's able to eat all the chicken meat. She was one happy camper XD. She's so persistent when it comes to food, never give up on getting her goodies, haha...

Spay recovery

Gigi has pretty much completely recovered from her surgery. I think she even forgot she had stitches on her belly. She's acting like her silly self. We even brought down our childhood mini sofa for her since we thought it's of more use for her than just sitting in our parents' bedroom.

Spay

Gigi was spayed today. Although she's only 5 months, we figured it's better to have it done while my parents can help watch her recovery before school starts. She was very happy, silly this morning. Right now, she's groggy, sleepy, and whiny. :( The vet techs said that they were having trouble putting her to sleep so they tranquilized her. So now she's still so tired-looking.

I feel so sad seeing her so out of it and zonked out. Even so, she takes time to eat her dinner and even try to ask my parents for their food. Hope she recovers fast!

On the way home. She's wearing a cone. But we figured the tranquilizer effects were still working so she won't try to get at the stitches now. So we took of the cone at home.
